Stroke Education for EMS Professionals
Emergency Medical Services in Stroke
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals are often the first responders in a stroke emergency,
so it is important that EMS provide optimal pre-hospital stroke management.
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) has recommended guidelines for EMS in the management of stroke,
which includes the proper identification of stroke symptoms and prompt transport to the nearest stroke-ready facility.1
